What is CUET?
The Common University Entrance Test or CUET is a nationwide entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). It is utilized for admission to undergraduate programs across various central, state, private, and deemed universities in India.
The primary purpose of CUET is to provide a single platform for students to apply to multiple universities based on their performance in the exam.

CUET Exam Eligibility
The eligibility criteria for the CUET vary based on the specific courses and universities to which students wish to apply.
Following are some general requirements for admission to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses:
Undergraduate Course: To be eligible for the CUET, candidates must have passed Class 12 from a recognized school. General category candidates are required to score a minimum of 50% marks in their Class 12 examinations, while candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) must achieve at least 45% marks.
Post-Graduate Course: Candidates must score a minimum of 50% marks in Class 12 for the general category, while Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates must achieve at least 45% marks.
CUET Exam Pattern
The CUET exam pattern consists of several sections.
Section IA includes 13 languages, with a total of 50 questions. It requires the candidate to score at least 40 marks in each language and the allotted time is 45 minutes per language.
Section IB includes 20 languages though specific scoring details are not provided.
Section II includes 27 domain-specific subjects, with each subject containing 45/50 questions. Candidates must score at least 35/40 marks in each subject with a time limit of 45 minutes.
Finally, there is a general test comprising 60 questions, where the candidate needs to score at least 50 questions with a time limit of 60 minutes.
